Jennifer Brockdorff and Scott Joyner
Meet Our Founder Jennifer Brockdorff

Jennifer is the proud founder of Cedar Point Construction.  Her journey in construction began when when she met her husband, Scott Joyner.  Accompanying him on jobsites to spend more time together, she ambitiously picked up a hammer, power tools, and gave her opinion as needed to get the job done.  This gave her a unique perspective and provided her with the ability to create a vision and transform any space into something extraordinary.  Jennifer's journey took her into the behind the scenes of residential construction, where she learned estimating, to read blueprints and architectural drawings, and what it takes to manage a project from concept to completion.  With a deep passion for design and a commitment to excellence, she set out to build a company that not only meets but exceeds your expectations in construction and renovation.

At Cedar Point Construction, we are dedicated to bringing your vision to life with precision and care.  Our goal is to create spaces that are not just functional but truly inspiring.  I invite you to explore our work and see how we can help turn your dreams into reality.

Meet Scott Joyner

Jennifer and Scott met in 2014 and they both had a love for designing and building creative spaces.  Scott was already working in the home improvement business and it did not take long before they were working side by side on projects.  Prior to meeting Jennifer, Scott started his journey in construction at a young age with his dad, when they would tackle projects around their home.   His father was a mechanic in the Air Force, had a siding business and was very handy.  His father passed on his knowledge to Scott from a young age.  The summer of 1991, Scott graduated high school and worked with a family friend, where he learned to build decks, install siding and trim, paint, and other small work on the exterior of dwellings.  This carried him through his college years in the summer and planted the seed for a future in home improvement.

In his mid twenties, after working some other jobs, Scott returned to residential construction when he found himself looking for a new direction in life.  He started doing small jobs for a friend who was an artist and owned her own interior design company.  This opportunity offered development in interior renovation and the importance of the small details and finishes.  Scott worked for some larger companies, and as the scope of projects grew, so grew his knowledge of structural work and how to project manage.  After a few years, he branched out on his own and continued to build a portfolio of work in DC, Baltimore, and all over the area.

In 2006, Scott moved back to Anne Arundel County and started a second career, as a full time Fire Fighter serving the public.  Needless to say, the experience from the fire department has been immeasurable and given him a unique view on residential construction.  With over 30 years of experience and knowledge, we love the real world experience he brings to Cedar Point Construction.
